In a season opening contest between the two schools who have claimed the last four state championships, Guerin Catholic Girls Lacrosse hosted the Carmel Greyhounds. After falling behind early by two goals, the Golden Eagles rebounded to take a 5-4 lead at halftime. The second half was all Guerin Catholic as the final ended up at 13-6 with multiple goals scored by Caroline Ford, Claire Flannagan and Lucy Esposito. These two premier programs have developed quite the rivalry in recent seasons. Since 2022, the schools have played each other nine times with Carmel holding a 5-4 advantage and Guerin Catholic holding a goals scored advantage of 83-78. While Guerin Catholic won back to back titles in 2022 and 2023, the Greyhounds defeated the Golden Eagles in 2024 and 2025 and a good chance remains for the two schools to see each other once again when the postseason rolls around.
