Boys Lacrosse Captures Back to Back State Championships

The Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles Boys Lacrosse team finished their season as the IHSLA Class 1A State Champions. The team went back to back and claimed the program's 3rd State Championship (2021, 2025, 2026). The Golden Eagles have now been involved in 5 of the last 7 IHSLA State Finals. The team played a challenging in and out of state record and went 13-7, while going 8-0 against other 1A teams. Following spring break, the team finished 11-4 which included an undefeated record in Circle City Conference play. The 2026 team featured IHSLA Class 1A All Class, All State Honorable Mention senior Vincent Elliott who ended his season with 94 points (61 goals, 33 assists). Complementing Elliott from the midfield was 1A All Class, All State Honorable Mention Junior Gavin Soucie. Soucie tallied 86 goals (single season program record), 34 assists, totaling 120 points (single season program record). Defensively, the team was lead by 1A All Class, All State Honorable mention and USA Lacrosse Academic All American Barrett Hahn. Hahn collected 50 ground balls on the season. A key feature of this year’s team was its dual threat at faceoff. Seniors Gabe Berglund and Jack Hubbard combined for 64% win rate. The team featured 6 Circle City Conference players. Senior JB Ford and Junior Sean Laferriere, along with Berglund, Elliott, Hahn and Soucie were all featured the Circle City conference team.
