Golden Eagle Softball team dispatched Beech Grove Varsity Lady Hornets on Tuesday, 10-4. The team got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Madi Cain '25 doubled down the left field line, Anna Mauch '25 doubled to center field, and Kate Brady '26 singled, each scoring one run. The Golden Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Cain walked, and Lucy Kemp '25 grounded out, each scoring one run. A single by Izzy Phillips '28 extended the Guerin Catholic Varsity Golden Eagles lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Ava Augustinoviczv'28 stepped in the circle first for the Golden Eagles. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking two. the Golden Eagles collected 14 hits in the game. Natalie Eiler '25, the number eight hitter for the Golden Eagles, led the way with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Brady, Eiler, Jillian Davis '28, and Cain each collected two hits. Lauren Brady '26 had two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Brady and Brady each stole multiple bases for the Golden Eagles. The team stole eight bases in the game. The Golden Eagles are back in action after spring break!
