On a hot and steamy Saturday afternoon, the Golden Eagles boys soccer squad defended their home turf with a 4-1 victory over the Pendleton Heights Arabians. The scoring got started midway through the first half on a strike by Will Scheu '26. The Golden Eagles added 2 more goals, both by Gus Allen '27, to close out the first half 3-0. Each team tallied a goal in the second half, including a strike by Caleb McGee '28. Guerin Catholic goals were assisted by Scheu had 2 assists, Conner Klen '27, and Christian Zermeno '26 each had 1. "We are focused on one game at a time, and started our season the way we wanted. The boys played well in stretches, especially in maintaining possession while the Arabians increased their pressing in the second half to try and get back into the game. We have several areas to improve upon, but considering the weather conditions and being our first match, I was pleased with the effort and results," Coach Alvarez said following the contest. The Golden Eagles are back in action Tuesday, August 19 when they host Park Tudor at 7:00 PM
